Meeting Snacks

Class Four

Well the final in series one (yes there may be more depending on demand) is over and it was a lot of fun as were the first three. Last night was french cuisine and the class managed to turn out a respectable menu of onion soup, rack of lamb (a la Jacques) and creme brulee.

We had some fun on the way as well as discovering a new contender for the heavyweight makan crown in Raymond. Gotta watch those quiet ones eh.

Eating with Missionaries

And I didn't try the Dr Livingstone I presume line ! Was nice to grab a bite before life group and hopefully show Jessica that we are not always so *ahem* excitable.

I even found a free wireless hook up but sadly the picture upload button was not there with Pocket IE so had to do this from home after figuring out how to send the pics to myself. Pretty cool but definitely anti social so I doubt I will get away with it too often.

Tomorrow we have a cooking class so am looking forward to that as always. Funny how so much fellowship revolves around food. Then again Jesus performed his first miracle at a wedding banquet didn't he.

Simple Food

We had dinner with friends and companions on the new baby journey last night. I always enjoy eating with them because we go to somewhere basic and sit at plastic tables and eat some tasty local food that we would not otherwise get to try. You see we are not typical expats who only want to go to places like Chillis (which I actually detest) or expensive upmarket joints that cater to them.

We enjoy cheap charlies most of all the places in Bangsar which is our local haunt (saves me fighting the traffic demons lah) for eating out. Or we will go to one of the reasonably priced chains where often we are the only europeans eating and half of the staff don't speak english very well. We don't know the way to choose the other places and are wary of upset tummies that may result from a bad choice so rarely take a chance unless we are with local folks who know.

I like the waý beer is often served here in a fancy glass, it must be that this beer drinking nation does not see it as second class. These glasses with the nice shape and gold trim are quite common and I think better suited to beer than when used in similar fashion for wine. I prefer a plain crystal or fine glass for that. Anyway a good way to start the evening after my 3.5 Km run in the gym.

I then had a nice walk to a restaurant that my colleague recommended.

Paris On The Seine

We had a nice boat trip and dinner to reward our efforts starting here

Entree was Duck Foie Gras

Main was chicken and ravioli stuffed with Comte cheese

Of course a glass of wine

And on the way back the lights were on
