Had a great weekend starting with eating some much missed food, (like all good Malaysians even honorary ones food comes first lah) Started with congee and condiments, moved on to Nasi Goreng kampung, add some rendang, some roti boom and chicken curry and a pau and you have a great breakfast ! moved on to braised pork and noodles for lunch washed down with a nice cold guiness stout, follow up with mooncakes and chinese tea made in the traditional style and you have a nice rounded days vittals.
Today some of our life group friends took me to Restoran Fu Yu otherwise known as Cheap Charlie's (for the mat sallehs) and I gorged on some of my favourites along with some other choices by the group (skipped breakfast especially for lunch) so had claypot chicken rice, baby kai lan with garlic, pork ribs mmm pork, beef with black pepper sauce, fried bean curd and a prawn dish all again washed down with a large bottle of the local guiness. Was very pleasantly stuffed.
Tonight to round it out a mini council reunion at House of Pakeeza an indian restaurant with some good spicy curries, tandoori chicken, chickpeas, salad and roti. Then a stop by a coffee house and a teh tarik to top up my cholestorol and place a serious strain on insulin production. Pretty sure the 8Km I ran the last two days has not balanced the equation but it was worth it *grin*.
9 months is not long and must confess felt right at home and integrated especially at worship. Miss the BLC style which is very different to the traditional liturgical services. Noticed that Sivin preaches longer *smile* and communion has moved to splitting by necessity. Enjoyed the mooncake festival which was well planned and had a good attendance and the kids had a ball.
LG were great and gives a different meaning to the "life" part of the description, feel very fortunate to have that connection and these people in our lives. Was lovely to see the new babies, the babies grown bigger and the babies on the way. BLC sure has been consistent in that regard. Got to hold a new Godson who is a very special gift for his parents and am sure Sigrun is really miffed she missed out this time. My other Godson was running around and being himself and continues to grow nicely. Seeing how attached his Dad is to his little girl reminded me of when Kirsten was born. The boys seem to be quite okay with it all which is great. Their Mum has bounced back and looks no different after number three so well done.
All in all the only thing spoiled the quick visit was being alone, it will be great when we all come back together.
