Whew, the weekend was a blitz at our place. We started Friday night with a visit to a bonfire night celebration that Kirsten's school and one of the parents arranged. I remember these things from when I was a child and that we still did it even when we first went to Australia. Never really thought about it until Fri night but burning an effigy is not a good thing to teach kids ! Last one of those we will attend. We then caught up with our life group for a teh tarik and a chat where we found it is our turn for refreshments on Sunday. Of course bigmouth me (especially after some wine) says no problems I will make some chilli and red beans.
Dear wanted a few things moved around and cleaned up, ready for our impending arrivals. ( Declan, Petra and Dad not necessarily in that order mind you) We spent most of Saturday doing this before heading to dinner (too tired to cook and kitchen still full of things) We managed to get the ingredients for refreshments in between and after dinner before hitting the sack.
Sunday up at dawn to prepare the food so we could get to BLC on time after I teased everyone about punctuality during the week. We heard a very relevant message from the guest Pastor about how life takes us over and we leave no time for worship and quite reflection. Hope I can get a credit for Sunday early morning as using your gifts is also worship yes. Then a quick drop off at WC and KL place before heading home to relax.
But wait Kirsten needs to build a tudor house and wants a halloween costume to go trick or treating so we still have more to do ! Boy did we collapse last night.
