Qooq recipe and cooking tablet launched for French speakers only

Cooking tablets and recipe readers have been pretty limited (and not very good) in the past -- but this one looks extremely promising. Called the Qooq, the 10.2-incher boasts -- in addition to a bunch of recipes, of course -- complete meal prep videos, instructions and advice on choosing ingredients, shopping lists, meal planners -- all which can be updated monthly via a subscription service. Specwise, we're looking at a glass touchscreen, Ethernet and USB ports, an SD slot, WiFi, and a built-in stand. The custom UI looks pretty attractive, but there are some drawbacks. The Qooq does not have a browser (though it's got built-in weather, digital photo viewing, and internet radio apps), and it's only available for French language speakers for now. If you do speak the language of love, you can get one of these puppies for €349 (about $513), with the subscription service running an additional €12.95a month (about $19). [Via Red Ferret]

Unbridled Excitement

The kids figured out the final clue with a jigsaw puzzle last night. Declan is so excited he woke up every hour and was wandering about the house calling to Kirsten. Hard to recall as an adult when you last had such anticipation that you could not contain it. It's going to be awesome to see his reaction when we finally get there.

Good news is there are lots of new things since we last went and Pirates is open which was under maintenance our last trip. It's a small world is closed yay !

Practicing His Fatherly Inquisition

Declan walks in to chat with me while I finish getting ready for work yesterday. Picture a very serious face, head turned slightly on the side, an eyebrow partially raised, and hands on hips.

Then with utmost seriousness (as if addressing the accused in the dock) "Dad, slight pause, did you eat chips when it was dark last night ?"

I almost felt guilty as he waits for an answer with a piercing stare "did you ?"

One must always tell the truth "yes I did"

Looking like he has caught me in the act " I found one this morning and I ate it"  followed by the don't do it again look, about face and exit the room.

Wonder where he gets that from LOL

One Year Later

A whole year has gone quickly. Another ten we might be considered locals like we were in Beauy. Almost a year in a new school for K and she has coped well as it is not as nice as her old school. I have lasted another year and hit the twenty year mark in the process. Little DB has almost reached the end of kinder and will go to school next year.

Quite a year of transition for our family and still a long way to go. Wonder what my recollection will be this time in 2010 ?

Bike Weekend

We spent last night at Russels new place in Blairgowrie. Bed at three am too much for us old guys.
