I found the Tsunami Aid Day to be very rewarding on a personal level. It was a quiet and very laid back sort of day for me and I got to reconnect with some good folks along the way. The bands were great and sadly started on the 'oldies' that I know and love just as I was leaving. Seeing the two Malay ladies selling Nasi Lemak there was very touching. It makes me think that in the end perhaps we can all pull together in grace.
Some nice amusing moments like when the Uncle doing the garlic tosti wanted to give a sample to my wife who was actually Yoke Fong who was helping me on the hot dog stand. He was very confused when Sigrun arrived :-) I am impressed that so many could pull together at such short notice and pack quite a bit into the day.
Talking food with Adeline and just chilling out with Alpha as we listened to the music was also very cool. All in all I feel very fulfilled at the end of the day. Thanks God for showing us that it is rewarding to serve as you did.....
good words mate ... I missed a hot dog while running around but this post is good supper!
